Outdoor Appliance Questions

Have questions about a Viking product? See our Frequently Asked Questions below for the answer you need. Still can’t find the answer? Viking has a toll-free number, 1-888-VIKING1 (1-888-845-4641), which consumers may call to speak with a representative on specific product or service questions.

Do the Outdoor stainless steel cabinets come with countertops?

No. The countertop for Viking outdoor stainless steel cabinetry must be supplied by locally supplied source.

What is the difference between E and T-Series Grills?

The T-Series operates off of 9V battery powered ignition which is ideal for cart installations. The E-Series operates off a 120V power cord, and is recommended more for built-in and cabinet installations. It has many step-up features from the T-Series model.

What are the step-up features from the T-Series to an E-Series grill?

The main features distinguishing the E-Series from the T-Series are:

Ignition System: The T-Series runs off of a push-button ignition system and a 9V battery that must be replaced over time. The E-Series runs off of 120V power and ignites at the turn of a knob, just like a Viking range. It also has a built in re-ignition system in case the flame burns out for any reason. Also like the range, it has an exclusive built-in re-ignition system in case the flame burns out for any reason.

Grilling Power: E-Series grills are equipped with a redesigned u-shaped stainless steel burner that provides better coverage and durability. At 29,000 BTUs, it is the Most Powerful standard grill burner in the industry. The T-Series grill comes standard with the original and more than adequate 25,000 BTU u-shaped Viking stainless steel grill burner.

Power Porcelain™ Coated Cast Iron Grates: All E-Series models have the new and exclusively designed power porcelain grill grates. These grates are made of cast iron, the finest conductor of heat available, and are coated with heavy-duty porcelain to reduce sticking and make cleanup easy.

EasyLift™ Canopy System: All E-Series models have the new canopy assist system built right into the side wall of every grill. The advantage is the weight of the canopy is reduced by more than 2/3rds, and remains hidden from sight.

Nighttime Grilling: All E-Series models have 100 watts of built-in canopy illumination so you can monitor your grilling on even the darkest of nights. In addition, elegant LED lighting washes over the front of the control panel so you can maintain your knob setting.

Will my grill hold up in the outdoor elements?

Any piece of equipment will last longer and maintain proper operation when it is cared for and cleaned properly. See the Viking grill Use and Care manual to determine how to best care for each component. In general however, all Viking outdoor appliances are built to withstand the harsh outdoor elements. They are constructed of high grade, corrosion-resistant stainless steel. Each component must pass special outdoor testing in order to obtain proper certification. Every control panel graphic is laser-etched at the factory and will not smudge or run.

Will special care be required if my grill is placed in a high salt environment?

Under rare conditions, such as in an extremely salty environment, small amounts of rust may accumulate on stainless steel parts. These small amounts of surface rust can easily be removed by applying Soft Scrub® Gel to a damp sponge and wiping with the stainless steel grain. It is important to make sure you wipe with the grain for the most efficient removal of surface rust. It is more important to keep the outside surfaces of the grill clean in such environments and a Viking grill cover is highly recommended.

Does Viking offer a charcoal grill?

Not in the traditional sense. However the C4 Charcoal Ceramic Cooking Capsule works as smoker and grill all in one. The unit may be used to smoke long term items such as beef brisket and ribs, or it may be used as an open unit to cook burgers and steaks.

Does Viking offer products primarily dedicated to smoking BBQ?

Yes. Viking has several products built specifically for the smoking enthusiast. The VEOS built-in electric smoker oven cooks with heat, water vapor, and smoke for perfectly textured meats. As mentioned above, the C4 cooker may be used as a smoker and runs completely on natural lump or briquette charcoal. Finally, the latest innovation from Viking gives you the Gravity Feed™ Outdoor Smoker. These heavy-duty smokers offer maximum capacity and championship BBQ results.
