Jewish cooking is more than just Matzo Ball Soup and Chopped Liver. It is a unique synthesis of cooking styles and ingredients adopted by the Jewish people as they migrated to various locales around the world. From the cold climate cuisine of Eastern Europe to the sun-kissed cuisine of the Mediterranean, Jewish food was uniquely shaped by the constraints of sacred dietary laws and the observance of Jewish holidays. SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES Exploring seasonings and flavors from Jewish communities around the world; understanding the laws of keeping kosher; working with phyllo dough; making dumplings; chopping fresh vegetables; roasting chicken; working with chocolate.

Adult classes are designed for students 16 years of age or older. (Note: Students must be 21 years of age to consume alcohol.) Alcohol is not served at our Anchorage location.
