Family Foods for Life Part 1: Breakfast, Lunch and Snacks

Good health is a journey, not a destination. Our new Family Foods for Life series is designed to provide families with the instruction and support needed to achieve healthy behaviors, including diet and an active lifestyle. In our special 2-part series, we bring Dr. David Ludwig’s book, Ending the Food Fight, to life, giving families all the tools they need to help win the food fight, once and for all. We look forward to celebrating your family’s journey on the healthy path.

In week one, we’ll review real food versus “fake” food and discuss how to stock your pantry with the good stuff. Students will also learn how to read and understand food labels. Then, we’ll head into the kitchen and learn how to whip up a mean omelet, bake whole-grain muffins, prepare a homemade salad dressing, assemble a delicious wrap, and produce a perfect pureed soup.

Adult classes are designed for students 16 years of age or older.

Consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish or eggs may increase your risk of foodborne illness, especially if you have certain medical conditions.
