John R. Hailman

Veteran Wine Judge

John Hailman of Oxford, Mississippi, is a veteran wine judge, having served for more than 15 years. He wrote a Washington Post wine column for three years, has been a nationally syndicated wine columnist for Gannett News Service for 12 years, and has traveled and tasted widely in the vineyards of the U.S. and Europe. He attended the Sorbonne in Paris, France, Laval University in Quebec, and the Georgetown and University of Mississippi Law Schools. In his "day job" he is a federal prosecutor in Oxford, Mississippi.
