Viking Awards October Designer of Distinction to Catherine Snowden

Viking Range, LLC, the leader in premium residential kitchen technology, has named Catherine Snowden as the October Designer of Distinction. Catherine Snowden is a designer for D’Asign Source, a general contractor, architect, interior design and landscape firm based in Marathon, Florida and serving the Florida Keys and south Florida. Ms. Snowden is the tenth monthly winner in the 2015 Viking Kitchen Design Competition. Designers from around the United States are vying for the coveted honor to become the 2015 Viking Designer of the Year to be awarded in November.

Catherine Snowden graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida in 2008 with a Bachelor of Design degree and again in 2009 with a Master of Science degree in construction management with a focus on sustainable construction. Upon graduation she began working for D’Asign Source in kitchen and cabinetry design.

Located in Marathon, Florida, the winning design is a new kitchen for homeowners who are avid fishermen with a passion for cooking. “At the heart of the kitchen is an impressive 60” dual fuel Viking range with custom hood that takes full advantage of the soaring ceilings,” said Snowden. “The homeowner’s personality was worked into every detail; a fish scale pattern can be found on molding details and, most noticeably, on the handmade fish scale tiles that adorn the custom built hood.” Other features of the design include a custom panel Viking 30” All Refrigerator and 30” All Freezer that flank a custom arched entry into an extensive pantry. Designed with entertaining in mind, the kitchen also hosts a built in banquet and bar that allows friends and family to grab a seat while the chef cooks up the catch of the day.

Each month prizes and recognitions are awarded to the winning designer in the 2015 Viking Kitchen Design Competition. The monthly winner receives the designation of Designer of Distinction and is featured on vikingrange.com and social media channels. The monthly winner also receives a Viking Professional 10 piece cookware set valued at over $1,600.

The grand prize winner named as the 2015 Viking Kitchen Designer of the Year will be featured in a 2016 Architectural Digest ad and will receive a Viking Professional Range valued up to $10,299. Entries by design professionals for the Viking Kitchen Design Competition are being accepted through October 31, 2015.
