Baked Brie




During the holiday season, we’re all on the lookout for a quick and elegant hors d’oeuvre. This recipe for Baked Brie fills the bill as an delicious appetizer for Thanksgiving dinner, or a fast offering for unexpected holiday guests.

Feel free to substitute pecans for the almonds, and use whatever type of brown sugar, either light or dark, that you have on hand. Serve your Baked Brie with crackers for a delicious start to a festive gathering.

  • 1 1-pound round of Brie
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Melt butter in a small saute pan. Add almonds and saute, stirring constantly, until lightly toasted.

Place brie in a baking dish or pie plate. Cover with brown sugar, and top with butter and almonds. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the Brie is melted and the brown sugar is slightly caramelized.

Makes 8 servings.
