Why is Viking conducting this recall?
Viking has initiated this recall in order to ensure the safety of all of its customers.

What is the reason for the recall?
Viking has determined that certain rigid gas tubing, which is used in the manufacture of the ranges and supplies bake, broil, and/or griddle burners, can separate at the joint of the gas tubing and hex fitting, posing a risk of a gas leak and fire hazard when these burners are in use. Viking will arrange for a free repair of affected products with an Authorized Service Provider.

Have customers reported any damages and/or injuries?
Viking has not received any reports of a separation or gas leak occurring from consumers, nor has Viking received any reports of injury or property damage.

Are Dual Fuel Ranges affected?
Dual fuel ranges (model family VDR) are not affected by the recall.

How do I check to see if my unit is affected?
Locate the model number/serial number on the rating plate on your range. Then visit the Range Tubing Recall webpage.Enter your model and serial number into the appropriate fields and click "Submit." A notice will display if your range is affected.

Alternatively, call the Viking toll free recall number at 888-566-2512 and provide your model number and serial number. You will be advised if your range is affected.

Where is the rating label located?
The rating plate on your range is located in one of three places:
  • 1. On the left side panel under the left front grate support/ burner bowl

  • 2. On the front of the oven cavity face frame below the control panel

  • 3. On the bottom of the control panel above the door

How do I receive the recall repair if my range is affected?
Call the Viking toll free recall number at 888-566-2512 and Viking will arrange for a free repair of affected products with an Authorized Service Provider.

What will Viking do to repair the unit?
The rigid gas tubing in the range will be replaced. This will eliminate the possibility of a separation at the joint of the gas tubing and hex fitting and any resulting gas leak.

How do I know this repair is safe?
We have verified through testing that the new components are safe. The repair has also been approved by the CPSC.

How long will the repair take?
Approximately 90 minutes.

Do I need to be home for the repair?
An adult age 18 or older must be present for the repair.

Can I continue to use my range?
You should immediately stop using the bake, broil and griddle functions of your range. You may continue to use only the top surface burners of your range. Surface burners are those covered by the cooking grates on the top surface of the range. The griddle and ovens should not be operated.
