In November 2006, The Viking Life partnered with Gourmet magazine to host a special luncheon to benefit the New Orleans Restaurant Renewal Fund. The Magazine of Good Living opened its doors to 16 food enthusiasts, who indulged in a one-of-a-kind epicurean experience in the Gourmet Private Dining Room. Gourmet’s Executive Chef Sara Moulton and Chef De Cuisine Jennifer Day prepared a delicious menu, while their Wine & Spirits Expert paired the cuisine with his top wine selections. The Viking Life event took place in this exclusive venue that is rarely open to the public. Sixteen guests were dazzled with a delectable five-course menu, and Sarah Moulton greeted them and went over the sumptuous courses as they mingled with other food lovers and enjoyed their one-of-a-kind feast. The Viking Life event raised $1,600 to benefit the New Orleans Restaurant Renewal Fund. Guests left the exclusive event full of delicious cuisine and an elegant gift bag that included a leather Viking cooking mitt, The Best of Gourmet cookbook, and a recent issue of Gourmet magazine.
