Lusine describes the project below:

Aura Avenue Kitchen Remodel

This single story, 3800 square foot estate is located in Northridge, California and has been completely remodeled from the ground up.

My clients, a young couple with two children, wanted a forever home in which they could entertain their family and friends. The combination of his modern style and her classic taste allowed for a unique and up-to-date design aesthetic. The clients required a bright open space with floor to ceiling glass doors that allowed the warm California sunlight to highlight the interior architecture.

The kitchen is at the heart of their home and connects to the formal and informal living rooms as well as the adjacent dining room. My clients love social gatherings and wanted a beautiful kitchen fully capable of hosting catered events as well as easy daily use. The large 10-foot island has a vegetable-wash sink and allows 6 diners to sit comfortably. A 10-foot skylight with hanging candelabra are at the center of this spectacular kitchen.

The custom cabinetry houses a large double door pantry with pull-out shelves, a large brass apron sink, pull-out spice racks and deep drawers, and custom leather-lined drawers for utensils. These elements were designed with comfort and easy accessibility in mind. The kitchen includes a 36” Viking range and vent with a custom vent hood, Viking wall ovens, as well as Viking paneled dishwasher and refrigerator.

The two-toned cabinetry combines modern elements with classical dark tones to compliment the client’s two styles. The cabinetry is a soft white with dark brown granite  countertops in contrast to the dark brown island with a soft white quartzite slab.
