Viking Range, LLC, the leader in residential kitchen technology, has named Lauren Levant Bland as the February Designer of Distinction. Mrs. Bland, an award winning designer based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is the second monthly winner in the new 2015 Viking Kitchen Design Competition. Designers from around the United States are vying for the coveted honor to become the 2015 Viking Designer of the Year to be awarded in November.

As the principal designer of Lauren Levant Interior, Lauren’s work has garnered many accolades in the industry and is featured in Houzz, HGTV Remodels, Home & Design Magazine, and the Washington Post. HGTV named Lauren one of the top designers under 35 in 2014. The recent hardcover publication of The Kitchen Bible - Designing the Perfect Culinary Space features several of her designs.

The February winning kitchen design is located in historic Georgetown in Washington, DC at the Adler’s family home. The objective of the project included creating a beautiful and livable kitchen design that works within the narrow spaces of this older home while creating flow to the outdoor patio and pool area.

The design utilizes the latest Viking Professional appliances including a spectacular 48” gas range, 48” Side-by-Side Refrigerator/Freezer, a 24” Undercounter Wine Cellar and a 24” Dishwasher. The microwave and other conveniences are hidden away in a pantry cabinet solution. With ties to Mississippi, where Viking is manufactured, the Adler family was thrilled to design Viking appliances into their dream kitchen.

In addition to the Viking appliances, other special features of the design include custom maple cabinetry in white and grey painted finishes, natural Carerra marble and white Quartz countertops, porcelain tile mosaics and statement lighting fixtures. Other unique features include heartwood pine floor, polished nickel hardware, butcher block table, mirrored hutches, and a double-sided glass fireplace. Informal family tables are located at each end of the room and welcoming window seats contain a special pet area underneath.

Each month prizes and recognition are awarded to the winning designer. The monthly winner receives the designation of Designer of Distinction and is featured on vikingrange.com and social media channels. The monthly winner also receives a Viking Professional 10 piece cookware set valued at over $1,600.

The grand prize winner named as the 2015 Viking Kitchen Designer of the Year will be featured in a 2016 Architectural Digest ad and will receive a Viking Professional Range valued up to $10,299. Entries by design professionals for the Viking Kitchen Design Competition are being accepted through October 31, 2015.
