Gourmet Diabetes Dinner with Viking Cooking School and the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi

Approximately 346,500 Mississippians have diabetes, and 115,000 are unaware that they have the disease! The Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi is the states's only nonprofit diabetes organization that provides care and services to all Mississippians with type 1 and type 2 diabetes - from children to seniors. The Diabetes Foundation will be on hand along with Merikelly Borgognoni, Registered Dietician and Certified Diabetes Educator, to answer the question that so many diabetics have - "What can I eat?" Learn healthier ways to buy, cook and eat various types of food that help you control your blood sugar levels. Discover how eating healthfully doesn't have to lead to a lifetime of boring, flavorless food. Our gorgeous fall menu is bursting with fresh, fabulous ingredients that everyone will enjoy. Viking's professional chef instructors will work side-by-side with you to prepare an elegant, diabetes-friendly dinner. At the end of class, we'll enjoy our gourmet feast while discussing the foods that help you feel better, have more energy, stay healthier and live longer.

Class is recommended for people living with diabetes, family and friends of diabetics, and for those with pre-diabetic conditions who wish to avoid developing diabetes. A percentage of the class tuition will be donated to the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi. For more information about their life-saving mission, visit www.msdiabetes.org.
