Tamale and Sangria Party

The one food that is served at virtually every Mexican fiesta is the tamale. Our expert instructors will teach you how to handle masa, make an amazing beef filling, prepare corn husks, and roll and steam tamales. We’ll round out the meal with some fresh and fabulous Mexican side dishes, garnishes and sauces. At the end of class, we’ll toast with a glass of the best sangria this side of Guadalajara. Salud!

SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES Making and handling masa; making a traditional tamale filling; rolling tamales using a “secret” time-saving tool; folding, tying and steaming tamales; preparing complementary side dishes and garnishes for homemade tamales.

Adult classes are designed for students 16 years of age or older. (Note: Students must be 21 years of age to consume alcohol.)
