Viking Range, LLC, the leader in residential kitchen technology, has named Dietrich Ralph Katz as the May Designer of Distinction. Dietrich Ralph Katz is a kitchen designer at Designline Kitchens located in Sea Girt, New Jersey and is the fifth monthly winner in the 2017 Viking Kitchen Design Competition. Designers from around the United States are vying for the coveted honor to become the 2017 Viking Designer of the Year.

Dietrich describes the project below:

This spectacular kitchen is located in Brick, New Jersey. The original house took a big hit during super storm Sandy and had to be entirely rebuilt. During this rebuilding the house was raised and built higher, larger and better than before.

Located on a river, the views are the primary asset of the lot. To capitalize on this, the owners positioned the house and the kitchen to take full advantage of these spectacular views. The cabinetry is custom designed and installed by Designline Kitchens in Sea Girt and the main kitchen color is designer white with two islands that are a contrasting stained weathered white oak . One island is a dedicated work island with a white farm sink, a Viking paneled dishwasher, general storage and paneled beverage drawers. The other island has stool space positioned for optimal water viewing and general party type storage .

The rest of the kitchen features tall stacked upper cabinets to a 9' ceiling line, staggered depth upper cabinets with two of the uppers having clear glass doors extending down to the counter. The kitchen features a Stanici full height wood hood with a Viking Custom Ventilator System and a Viking 48'' range with a pot filler installed above.

Since the clients are avid cooks and like to entertain with their family and friends, they were very firm on their insistence of using Viking products.

The entire design is centered on the ease and functionality of cooking, cleanup, presentation and storage. The clients are exceptionally pleased with the kitchen design and the spectacular Viking appliances.
